Fashion Truck Collection opens today at City Centre Houston. Urban Izzy, The Shoe Bar, and Height of Vintage began collaborating with monthly pop up events called the Fashion Truck Festival. Now these ladies are creating something more permanent to complement their ever changing and moving mobile boutiques. I asked Vanessa Mala, owner of Height of Vintage, some questions about FTC.

BB: What are the goals for FTC?

VM:   For the most part, I think our dreams and goals were to always have our own storefront so this great opportunity was hard to turn down. Now that we will have this brick & mortar, our goal is to stay open as long as we possibly can, in an area that is known mostly for chain stores and not a lot of local shops.

Short term: Get people to shop local.

Long Term: Stay Open Forever & Ever 😉

BB: Will the fashion trucks continue once the store opens?

Yes! Trucks are what got us here.  It might be a bit tough the first few months, while work out the kinks, but we will still be out.

BB: What excites you most about opening a storefront?

Air Conditioning! You know they say beauty it pain, but this Houston Weather + Fashion Trucks= Hot Mess (mostly half of the year) LOL.  And, we are excited to be set up in such a beautiful commercial area near Urban Outfitters & Free People which is a great source for new clients.

We are also working with FMWFabLab in the creation of our furniture-all pieces that are available for sale. They are local company that has the look of Restoration Hardware!
