Woven Coasters with a Striped Center
Spruce & Linen is one of my favorite diy artists to follow because she has so many different beginners weaving tutorials and projects that you can complete ranging from beginner to advanced. It’s a great space to learn everything you need to know about weaving including beginners guides, wall hangings, book marks and so much more.
Striped Coaster Weaving with a Cardboard Loom
This weaving tutorial is very beginner friendly and even uses a cardboard loom instead of a wooden hand loom! It’s great to see how accessible weaving can be, with even minimal supplies. It will show you how easy it can be to make multiple stripes of different widths across your coasters.
Color Block Coaster Weaving Tutorial
I’m obsessed with this tutorial because it’s so detailed. This is perfect for anyone that wants to create a pattern that’s a little more advanced, but still feels like a beginner weaver. The instructor covers so many details and good techniques and shows you every single step in great detail.
Abstract Striped Woven Coaster Tutorial
Here is our 2nd and final tutorial from Spruce & Linen, but you can find more coaster tutorials from this artist on her Youtube channel. This interlocking weave or Dovetail Stitch was described in the Color Block Coaster Weaving Tutorial and with this pattern we get to explore it more in depth. Your stripes can be creatively placed making this a perfect weaving tutorial for beginners!
2 Triangles Woven Coaster Tutorial
This tutorial is beginner friendly, but you will notice that the language that is used is quite advanced! This is the perfect tutorial to refresh yourself on the language of weaving and make sure you feel comfortable with all your weaving supplies and weaving terminology. But the tutorial is cute and straightforward!
DIY Patterned Woven Coaster Matching Set
These coasters are made together as a set so that they match perfectly but are all different. It’s so fun! Remember that you can use any color you like, so don’t worry if you are not a fan of green or any of the colors used in their tutorials. The important part is to follow the weaving patterns until you feel confident to make your own patterns.
DIY Herringbone Coaster Weaving Tutorial
I’m not sure if I can even call this beginner friendly! This uses a more intricant pattern to make a herringbone or chevron shape. With this weaving tutorial, you will see an alternate way to create a warp and a very unique pattern to the weft.
What’s great about video weaving tutorials rather than blog tutorials is that you can rewind, pause, and see the movements of the hands as each step is completed. That can make the process a whole lot easier!
So which Woven Coaster Tutorial Video are you going to try? Tell us in the comments and if you are looking for more weaving projects be sure to try the tutorials below and grab your own Hand Loom here. Happy crafting!
