Ingredients to Make a Watermelon Fruit Pizza
The ingredients to this Watermelon Fruit Pizza Recipe are so simple! All you need is a whole watermelon, beautiful fresh fruit of your choice – I chose cherries, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.
Additionally you will need yogurt and dried coconut.
All of the ingredients are creative and can be modified to your tastes. I have a lot of ideas at the end of the blog – like including all your favorite fruit, using your favorite type of yogurt, adding chocolate and more!
This recipe can be completely creative based on your tastes.
How to Slice the Watermelon
To make this Watermelon Fruit Pizza, you must use a whole watermelon so you can cut the pieces into the perfect pizza like shape!
First slice through the watermelon on its shorter side. Then cut it again on its shorter side to make a 2-3 inch thick slice. And place the watermelon on a dish to decorate it.
Spread with Yogurt
Next, spread a thick layer of yogurt along the watermelon. Just spread the yogurt along the fruit leaving the green exposed so it can mimic the pizza crust.
You can use your favorite flavor of yogurt, but you will definitely want one that’s white in color like plain yogurt or vanilla yogurt. Just be sure to add enough the the fruit can gently rest in the yogurt without moving.
How to Slice the Fruit Toppings
Next, top the yogurt with additional fruit. The more beautiful the fruit the better. I chose cherries, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries.
For larger fruit, slice them in the prettiest way possible. The cherries will need to be deseeded and the raspberries and strawberries will hold to the yogurt better if you slice them in half.
Additional Toppings
After you add the fruit, sprinkle the top with a layer of dried coconut. I added some edible flowers just for effect. But you could add so many different ingredients. I made a list below, because this recipe can be so creative!

As you know, watermelon can be juicy and messy. So this is a great recipe to make when you are eating outdoors. If you are eating them indoors, serve them on plates with plenty of paper napkins handy!

Watermelon Fruit Pizza is best served fresh so if you have to store it, it’s best storing the pieces individually.
If you store the pizza already made, it won’t keep long. It’s best the same day but may be okay the next day. Store it an an air tight container in the fridge.
Healthy Watermelon Fruit Pizza Recipe
Equipment
- 1 Sharp Kitchen Knife
Ingredients
- 1 Watermelon
- 1 cup Yogurt Plain or Vanilla is Best
- 1/2 cup Strawberries
- 1/2 cup Cherries
- 1/2 cup Raspberries
- 1/2 cup Blueberries
- 3 tbsp. Dried Shredded Coconut
Instructions
- Wash your fresh fruit, slice your strawberries and remove the stems. Cut the cherries in half and remove the seeds. If you like, cut the raspberries and blueberries in half. Allow the fruit to dry completely before adding it to the pizza.
- Cut through the watermelon on its shortest side and cut the watermelon again to make a 2 inch to 3 inch thick slice. Then cut the watermelon into 6 wedges.
- Place on a serving dish before you finish the rest of the steps. The best serving dish is ceramic or glass - I do not recommend anything like wood that can absorb liquid.
- Smother your watermelon slices in yogurt leaving the edges of the watermelon free to mimic the look of pizza. Be sure to add enough yogurt to make it thick.
- Layer the fruit on top. Make sure the the fruit is completely dry before adding to the watermelon. Include each type of fruit on each slice.
- Sprinkle with a thin layer of shredded coconut.
- Serve immediately.
