Need a special treat for your skin? Make your day an at home spa day with just some simple ingredients you already have lying around the house. Make this DIY Easy Homemade Face Mask with Avocado, Honey, and Yogurt.
It’s easy and will leave your skin feeling divine!
Supplies:
Local Honey
Avocado
Any Kind of Unflavored Yogurt
A Bowl for Mixing
Directions:
Use about 1/4 – 1/2 of a ripe avocado. Mash it until it’s cream and blend it together with a few tablespoons of yogurt, and a tablespoon (or so) of honey.
The recipe is flexible! The goal is for your blended face mask ingredients to have a texture that you like and that will easily smooth across your skin.
Before you apply your face mask, you will want to have some freshly washed skin! Your everyday face wash will work just fine. Apply a thick layer of the face mask evenly across your skin avoiding your direct eye area.
Leave on your skin for 15-20 minutes and allow it to harden a little. Rinse with cool or lukewarm water.
Viola healthy, fresh, and soft skin!
Why Avocado, Honey, and Yogurt?
Avocados are rich over twenty vitamins and minerals, including vitamin B, C, E and K, riboflavin, niacin, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, potassium, lutein, beta-carotene, omega-3 fatty acids and anti-ageing antioxidants. The benefit of avocados include anti-aging and skin health. The are great for your skin when you eat them and when you add them to your skin and hair regime. Avocados are amazing as a skin treatment and can help reduce wrinkles.
Honey has antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antioxidant properties. It has been used throughout history as an aid to healing the skin. Unprocessed, raw, or local honey is much better than regular commercial honey. When making this Avocado, Honey, and Yogurt Face Mask, choose raw, unfiltered honey for it’s medicinal properties. Most honey you find in stores is highly processed and may even contain additives like corn syrup!
Unprocessed honey can help treat skin infections, helps wounds heal, and improves dandruff and itchy scalp too.
Yogurt contains lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid, that dissolves dead skin cells. This gentle exfoliation not only helps to create a natural glow and prevent breakouts, but works to diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
When topically applied to the skin, a velvety yogurt face mask will help moisturize, fight acne, prevent premature aging, relieve sunburn, and reduce discoloration. It’s an all-around beauty multi-tasker.
